About Us

We grew up in Iowa and spent most of our adult lives there. We started dancing as soon as we were old enough to take turns dancing with our Dad. We took dance classes together while we were growing up. We also enjoyed roller skating and, as teens, we skated at our county fair.

ROSE: I worked as a nursing supervisor in a small hospital, where I was a "Jack of all trades." When my late husband Al and I moved to Surfside Beach, South Carolina, I switched to part-time work as administrative supervisor at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center in Myrtle Beach. That gave me time for fun and I started line dancing.

I have a son Mark who lives in Oklahoma and a daughter Lyla who lives in Iowa. I have two grandchildren, Clinton and Emily; one great-grandson Cody; five stepchildren, Suzanne, Erik, Boyd, Aaron and Samantha; and 12 step-grandchildren, Amanda, Lacey, Jacob, Sara, Tessa, Melinda, Noah, Isaac, Zachary, Eric and Ryann.

MARGARET: I was North Carolina State Solo Esquire Dance Champion in roller skating, as well as a pairs esquire dance champion. I gave up my roller skates for line dancing, though. I thought line dancing was safer and I wouldn't have to travel as much!

I began teaching line dancing in 1998 while we lived in Surfside Beach. When my husband Don and I moved to The Villages in 2004, I retired from my job as an office and payroll associate with Belk, but continued to teach line dancing. I am a member of the National Teachers Association and have a certificate for dance fundamentals. I've also taught at the Tampa Bay Linedance Classic, the Altamonte Springs Workshop, the Myrtle Beach Shag Weekend and at Midnight Rodeo in Ocala.

Don and I have two daughters, Tammy and Pam, and two sons, Jeff and Jerry. They've given us seven lovely grandchildren -- Ryan, Richard, Rachel, Jackie, Kirstie, Lexie and Campbell.

In my free time, I like to swim and enjoy golfing and dancing with my husband.

We both graduated  from Barbizon Modeling School while we lived in Iowa. We've done several trade shows and appeared together in a Humana Care Plus television commercial that aired in Central Florida. We also were featured in Humana Plus magazine ads.

Both of us have performed in several Magical Moments shows in The Villages. We're members of The Villages Sweet & Sassy Line Dance Team and of the Orlando Magic Silver Stars.
